The filmmakers intended the film to be released in IMAX formats to provide “a larger-than-life sensation for a sports film.” The proposal was scrapped because IMAX executives in North America rejected clearance, citing concerns over Hollywood big-budget productions like Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Matrix Resurrections; management did not want too many IMAX films released at the same time.
