What is HughesNet’s Lower Price Plan?

We want an internet service provider who can maintain data download speeds regardless of whatever our chosen price range is. If anyone has an affordability window, which doesn’t allow for expensive options for any number of reasons, then this should not affect the quality of services. This is not the case with every ISP. Most offer plans and promotions, which are targeted to attract customers but then they increase the monthly prices. That shakes the trust anyone has in his or her service provider.

Among a plethora of data carrier companies, HughesNet internet plans come with some fantastic offers that are suitable for most households. With their soft data caps and consistent speeds, plus add to that their clear and simple plans, HughesNet has become the leading Satellite internet provider throughout the United States.

All of their internet plans come with the same 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds. This stability and uniformity in delivering optimum services breed customer loyalty. With recent upgraded Gen5 technology, their services have become even better and more reliable than before.

All of the HughesNet plans offer additional high-speed 50 GB data during the Bonus Zone, which extends during the off-peak hours, that is, from 2 am to 8 am. They also offer a built-in Wi-Fi service with all of their plans, which allows customers to connect multiple devices at the same time from anywhere inside the house without extra equipment and fees.

Which plan is the most suitable?

HughesNet offers four transparent plans to its customers depending upon their affordability and need. If you’re a large household, you can choose their high-end plan, and if you are focused on casual surfing then a smaller plan should be enough for that. Add to that the fact that none of their plans comes with a hard-set data cap and there is no possibility of termination of services if you exceed your listed data limit. You will be able to keep on using their internet services while compromising on the download speeds. Instead of the listed 25 Mbps speed, you will now receive reduced speeds that will range between 1 and 3 Mbps.

The Lowest Price Plan

Their standard plan costs $59.99 per month and allows 10 GB of data. The same above-mentioned data guidelines apply here. Although, you can just add $10 per month and at $69.99, get double the data amount that is 20 GB. Whichever plan you choose, the download speed will remain 25 Mbps until you exceed your data limit. Moreover, to make the most out of this situation, remember to utilize the bonus zone for an extra 50 GB of data.

They do require a two-year contract, which we don’t really appreciate but if you’re residing at a rural location and satellite is the only option you’re going to have for some time, then two years don’t seem that long.

Their prices do not face any increments during your contract. You will pay the listed price with all the benefits for two years without worrying about any surprises in the monthly bill. This is like a breath of fresh air if you compare them with their direct competitor, Viasat. Their promotional price ends at the end of the first three months of usage, and the price hike is just not pretty.

In case you decide that 20 GB data isn’t enough then you can go for their 30 GB or 50 GB plans. They cost $99.99 per month and $150.00 per month respectively. You get bonus zone and soft data caps on both of these.

Installment and Equipment Costs

There is an equipment fee with HughesNet. Because it’s a wireless broadband connection, a satellite dish requires for receiving signals from the satellite orbiting in outer space. However, they will not cost you any fee for the dish and the installation is also free under their standard installation option. What you will have to pay for is their Modem. It comes with built-in Wi-Fi technology and acts as a router as well for connecting multiple devices at the same time.

You can lease the modem on a monthly basis but that will add $14.99 per month to your listed plan. Another option is to buy the modem, getting rid of any monthly rental costs, for $449.98. The equipment is definitely an expensive option but you will recover these costs by the end of your two-year contract.

Satellite internet regardless of the ISP providing this service is slower than all other types of internet connections. This is because of the above-average high latency that you face with such connections. Satellite internet works by sending signals from your laptop, PC, or any other connected device to HughesNet satellite in space that is around 22,000 miles away. Your signal request travels over a long distance and then back to your dish antenna and then to the device. For citizens living in rural areas, HughesNet is the option that they have for connectivity.
